Tadpole toddler swimming lessons help young swimmers build on the confidence and foundational skills they developed in earlier classes while continuing to make learning fun and engaging. Each lesson includes songs, games, and playful activities that encourage children to enjoy the water while strengthening their comfort and independence. These activities also help parents and children feel relaxed and confident as they work together to develop early swimming abilities.
During the lesson, children begin extending their breath control, submersion, and independent mobility skills through playful exercises such as dolphins, Humpty Dumpty, and jelly on the plate. Using balls and other swim tools, toddlers practice kicking and reaching movements that improve coordination and help them learn how to move purposefully through the water. At this stage, instructors also begin introducing breath control techniques and preparing children for gentle submersion once both the child and parent feel ready.
As lessons progress, swimmers continue developing stronger mobility and buoyancy skills through independent kicking, paddling, and floating. The Tadpole class serves as the transition level for children advancing from both the Duck and Goldfish programs. With a strong emphasis on independent swimming and water confidence, this class prepares toddlers for the next step in their swimming journey—the Crab level—where they will begin Teacher and Child beginner lessons and continue developing more advanced swimming skills.
