Skill Based Classes

Octopus Swimming Lessons

Develop a basic freestyle stroke through learning big arms. We also teach buoyancy through floating and backstroke kicking in our Octopus swimming lessons.

What is an Octopus?

– Confident independent swimmers

– Small group class of 4

– Strong mobility skills (paddling and kicking)

– Can put their eyes in the water and blow bubbles

Octopus swimming lessons help children build stronger swimming skills while continuing to make learning fun through games and engaging activities. In this level, swimmers begin developing early freestyle techniques using “big arms,” while continuing to strengthen their mobility and buoyancy through independent kicking, paddling, and floating. Instructors focus on teaching proper body position and self-propulsion through the water with eyes down, helping children move confidently and efficiently. By the time a child graduates from the Octopus class, they will be an independent swimmer with a strong kick and coordinated arm movements that allow them to propel themselves through the water.
