Skill Based Classes
Stingray Swimming Lessons
What is a Stingray?
The Stingray stroke development level builds on freestyle and backstroke techniques and introduces breaststroke and breaststroke kick. Stingrays are the first level that swim the full length of the pool.
– Small group class of 5
Stingray swimming lessons help swimmers continue building strong technique and confidence while keeping lessons engaging through fun activities and games. During this level, children focus on developing their freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke skills while improving coordination, body position, and overall swimming efficiency. A continued emphasis is placed on independent bilateral breathing, helping swimmers maintain proper rhythm and control as they move through the water. As swimmers progress through the Stingray class, they work on strengthening their endurance and refining their stroke technique so they can swim longer distances with confidence. By the time a child is ready to advance to the Marlin level, they will be capable of confidently swimming 30 feet of freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke and breaststroke kick, preparing them for the next stage of advanced swimming development which is our Marlin level.
